“Heron & Lotus” Custom Commission

Absolutely stunning! Divine led the way. Thank you so much. I have been gazing at the heron eye—so real, so lifelike. So thankful for your talent and vision. Have a blessed day.

“Scholars in a Clouded Gorge”

I commissioned Alexandra to paint a custom piece that fits into my new living room, which does not have too much wall space. I saw her "Sampans in a Clouded Gorge" and loved it -- except, there was no space to hang a whole scroll without overwhelming the rest of the room. So I gave her a very vague description of what my subconsciousness suggested -- clouds, mist, a gorge, and a way to cross the gorge without boats. And Alexka delivered a masterpiece! The scholars crossing the bridge are exactly what I was looking for. In an 11x14 format, she captured my soul in a painting, better than I could ever capture it in words myself. And I deal with words for a living!

“Modern Monks”

I’ve adored these whimsical monks from Alexandra’s Modern Monks series since she first painted them years ago, and I finally have a place for them. They were intended for my entryway, and I hung them there when they arrived but soon realized I wanted to see them more often than when coming and going, so now they’re relocated to a place I can pass them several times a day. They always make me smile. I also love the idea of welcoming myself and my guests home with these delightful energies—alignment, carefree, and a fish in water. Exactly what I aspire to be and to offer.

Tiger Duo

“Justice will prevail,” and “Compassion is the foundation for morality.” I commissioned Alexandra to create artwork to capture a meaningful quote to add to my workspace. The purpose was to serve as daily inspiration, and to complement the arrangement of three of Alexandra’s other custom works already on my wall. Aside from sharing the quote and my favorite color (orange), I gave her very little to work with. But of course, Alexandra’s boundless creativity and talent sculpted a simple quote into two beautiful works of art for Year of the Tiger, the second of which contained a complementary quote to the one I had supplied her with. I have the deepest admiration for her talent, and appreciate her attention to detail, care, and diligence throughout the process.

“Galloping Hare”

My mother gave me the painting you made of the galloping hare as a gift recently. I just wanted to thank you and express my appreciation for it - it’s so beautiful and I love the dynamic nature of it. The rabbit seems to be on the verge of escaping from the paper. The painting is on the wall facing me as I do work and when I glimpse it, I often stop and appreciate it for a couple of moments because it’s so striking. It’s really the most lovely gift I’ve been given in a long time! My family associated me with rabbits since I was a baby and it always make me so happy to see them in the wild!

"Compassion"

As soon as I saw this piece I fell in love with it! As a teacher (once a teacher, always a teacher) it speaks volumes to me. Teaching is not just about letters and numbers, but helping to create children with understanding eyes with which to look at our world. As I write this, it reminds me of a book I have used in the past, entitled, "The End of the Beginning", by Avi. It is about 2 other small creatures (an ant and a snail), but the message is the same: Never discount what we can learn from little things. I am looking forward to receiving my print, and I will definitely take a picture of its resting place (of honor).

“Two Scholars and the Moon”

When I first saw this painting, pre-Covid, at Alexandra’s art show, my eyes welled up. The scholars on the bridge filled me with longing. I was feeling alone and aimless. Needless to say, I bought it, and hung it up on the wall by my computer—so I could look at it everyday and make it my goal to fill my days with friends who love learning and value intelligence, encouraging me to do the same. I realized today how much my life resembles those scholars on the bridge now. I’ve reconnected with my brilliant colleagues from Liberty and from GBCC. I am in awe over the relationship I now have with another colleague, who complements my character and skill set in so many ways. And Alexandra continues to inspire me with her creativity that speaks to my soul. Seek and you shall find.

“The Dragon, the Phoenix, & the Pearl”

Alexandra’s paintings are pure joy expressed in ink and flecks of gold. From start to finish, she generously shared her process, bringing to life a bespoke design. The result is nothing short of sublime.

"Rooster Strutting"

I'm still debating where my rooster will live permanently, but it's currently in the company of other prized possessions - a Salish Sea bathymetric map, Pendelton blanket, and reed basket flower. I have a feeling it may need to strut through a few rooms this year though, going where inspiration is needed. :-) Your artwork is stunningly detailed and beautiful and I'm so excited to have an Alexandra Chan original!

"Dragon" and "Ox in Water"

I ordered two Zodiac prints for my home.  My late husband was part Chinese and a Dragon (of course!). I am Ox. These prints bring wonderful memories back to me of our many years together and the quality is exquisite. I am thrilled about Alexandra and her many talents. I am so excited to have these and will treasure them always.

“Two Herons”

I was familiar with the outstanding quality of Alexandra Chan Photography and was excited to see her new offerings in the world of Chinese arts. I ordered the Two Herons for my home. I knew it would be good, but I was honestly stunned by the exquisite brushwork and delicate lines.  It is truly a masterpiece that would proudly grace the walls of any room.  Delivery was quicker than expected and communication was excellent.  I am ordering several more prints as Christmas gifts (although I know it will be difficult for me to part with them as such).

"Tiger Lapping at a Stream"

Stunning. Those eyes! Absolutely gorgeous. My husband was thrilled to get this on Christmas morning! Thank you.

"Dream", and More Praise for "Two Herons"

I ordered "Dream" in a medium scroll format and"Two Herons." One was for myself and the other was a gift. It is an understatement to say how beautiful and serene these pieces are, and how lucky I feel to have discovered this talented artist.

I'm looking forward to commissioning more pieces from Alexandra to hang - both at work and at home - for their beauty and the spiritual harmony they present.

"Tranquility Yields Transcendence"

I ordered the "Tranquility Yields Transcendence" scroll. I wanted to present a very important customer of mine with a one-of-a-kind appreciation gift.  The scroll was a home run! (see my customer's feedback on Alexandra's painting below). Thank you! I will be coming here again for future clients.

"I wanted to say thank you for the lovely painting.... I was really touched to receive such a thoughtful present and I have hung it up in my house in the hallway where it looks perfect!!"

Six Koi with "Looking Forward, Never Looking Back"

I ordered the Six Koi with a personalized message, backed and ready for framing.  It's even more beautiful in person! It was the most heartfelt and personal birthday gift I've ever given. Thank you!
